Skulls recovered yesterday also at Sathosa, Mannar
The task of excavating at the entrance to the Mannar Sathosa premises was continued yesterday for the 33rd day yesterday. This excavation is being carried out before Mannar Judge T.J.Prabaharan supervised by Special judicial Medical Expert W.R.A.S.Rajapakse in conjunction with Professor Raj Somatheva of the Kelaniya University. Excavation area had been extended now.
Although the excavations so far were undertaken at the entrance and the centre of the premises, the y had been extended to the areas in front of the entrance now. When the excavations were extended yesterday human skulls and suspicious bone fractions had been recovered.
During the 33 days of excavation 27 full skeletons had been excavated, Special expert Rajapakse said.
He also said that an article in the shape of a ring was recovered during the excavations and attempt is being made to identify the metal of the ring shaped article is being undertaken
The excavations will be resumed on Monday.
