Some lands in Jaffna required for National Security will be under the Army : says the Government

The lands in Jaffna Peninsula required for National Security will not be handed over the owners, said the Secretary to the Ministry of Defense, Karunasena Hettiarachi. He was answering questions in a press meet yesterday. He also said that several lands in Jaffna Peninsula will not be handed over to the owner. These are considered to be important for National Security.

Action is being taken to hand over 5,700 acre to the people. The owners of the land to kept back will be paid handsome compensations. It is notable that the President Sirisena promised in Jaffna that people will be resettled within 3 months, on his last visit.
