State Forests to be used for development

A discussion was held at the Kilinochchi District Secretariat, day before yesterday regarding handing over of State Forests except reserve forests to be handed over to the Divisional Secretaries to be utilized for development.

In this discussion presided by the Kilinochchi District Govern Agent, for considering the circulars issued by the Ministry of Defence and Wildlife Department and making decisions, officials of the District Secretariat, Divisional Secretaries, Officials of the Forest Department and other sector wise Officials participated.

It was decided to make a field visit and identify land that could be released immediately. It was also decided that this opportunity is to be utilized to solve the disputes of lands issued to the people.
