The attempt to construct Vihare in Kokkilai stopped

An attempt by a Buddhist monk to build a huge vihare with the support of the Army was stopped by the Mobile Service of the Ministry of Lands, until such time proper decision is taken on this matter, said T.Raviharan, the TNA member of the NPC.

This decision was taken in the Mobile Service of the Ministry of Lands, held in Mullaitheevu District Secretariat.This service was held in accordance with the recommendation of the LLRC that land disputes should be settled within two years, with the participation of Commissioner General of Lands and high level officers of the Ministry of lands and the Land Commissioner Department.
