The Bishop of Jaffna, Rt. Rev. Justin Gnnapragasam had pointed out to the German MPs that the faith placed by the Tamil people on the good governance had started to decline.
9 persons from Germany including Members of German Parliament are on a visit to North and met the Jaffna Bishop yesterday and had discussed several matters.
The Bishop speaking to the Media after the meeting said that they have come to find out about the situation in the North after the regime change. He indicated that he had indicated the following to the deligation:
* Tamil people had been displaced for more than 25 years now. Those who were displaced from Palaly, Urani,Myliddy,KKS, Vasavilan are still living in other places. Although the GOSL is taking some action to resettle, the effort is totally inadequate, and this had caused the faith these had on the Good Governance had started to decline
* The names of all TPPs should be published and their cases expedited.
* The details of the missing persons with of whether they are alive or not should be published. People are very eager to know this.
* More assistance should be provided to the Kilinochchi and Mullaitheevu Districts which are heavily affected by war, and they should be led in a path to well being.
