The first day of the “From Pottuvil to Polikandi” rally ended successfully

The first day of the “From Pottuvil to Polikandi” rally, which began on Wednesday, ended today (Wednesday) Thalankudaa in Batticaloa. The rally will start from Thalanguda at 8.30 am tomorrow and will reach Mullaitivu via Trincomalee at 5.30 pm.

Today’s rally was attended by representatives of civil society organisations, public organizations, religious leaders, representatives of Tamil-Muslim political parties and social activists.

A court injunction had been obtained against the protest through police stations in Batticaloa and Ampara districts. However,   despite these obstacles, the public, political figures and activists attended.
