The real state of fasting TPPs should be made public, relatives in a memorandum to HRC
The relatives of the TPPs engaged in Fast unto death had handed over a memorandum to the Coordinator of the Human Rights Commission, Jaffna calling that the HRC and the ICRC should pat intensive attention on the fasting TPPs and make the relatives aware of the current real stage of the TPPs on the fasting.
A number of TPPs are suffering in prison for more than 20 years,and TPPS like Dilrockson , Nimalaruban were beaten to death for fighting for their release and no justice had been delivered for their death.The Government had consented to the UN to revoke the PTA. Let them revoke it and release the TPPs sans any conditions, they have said in the Memorandum.
59 of the relatives have signed the Memorandum. Accepting their Memorandum, the coordinator for HRC , Jaffna, T.Kanagaraj said that the HRC from its inception had paid attention on TPPs’ problem and he will take action to send the memorandum to the President of the Sri Lanka HRC and the Commissioners .
