The schools under the control of Navy at Sampur not released

The Tamil Teachers’ Association of Trincomalee had expressed concern over schools in the Sampur area not being released even after the order was given in October last year to release nearly 1,000 acre in Sampur.

Although 818 acre were released another 237 acre are still under the control of the Navy. The Sampur Maha Vidyalaya , Sri Murugan Pre School and several other residences were found in this area where the Navy Training Camp is located. When the President inaugurated the handing over of lands at Sampur said that, the Navy will vacate the camp in two or three months. Bute so far they have not done so, said the Secretary of the Eastern Province Tamil Teachers’ Association, s.Jeyarajah.
