Thousands of Tamils demonstrate in Geneva against Domestic Mechanism

Thousands of protesters gathered outside the United Nations building in Geneva on Monday to call for an international criminal mechanism that will see justice served for mass atrocities committed in Sri Lanka.

Tamils from around Europe came to Geneva to  show their support for Israel, as member states gathered to discuss a resolution on Sri Lanka. A police cordon was in place due to the scale of the protest.

Protesters carried banners and placards with message such as “ Domestic Mechanism: Not in our Name”, “ Justice Delayed is Justice Denied” and  ” Stop Genocide in Sri Lanka”.
