Total Sinhala Domination- – That is why we insist Federal System: CM says to Greek Ambassador

There are attempts to create disturbance and riots in the country, drive away the minorities and to make the whole country a Sinhalese country. That is why we are insisting on Federal system, The NPC CM said to the Ambassador for Greece  to Sri Lanka, Thunga Oscar.

A meeting occurred yesterday, Friday between the Ambassador who is on a visit to North and the CM at the CM’s residence.

Commenting on the meeting the CM said that, the Ambassador had said that the Sinhala leaders told him that varying opinions are expressed in the North and they causing inconvenience to them and asked me why we are insisting on Federal System. I replied that in several countries the system has given the opportunity to people to look after themselves.

He pointed out that in countries like yugoslavia, federal system has led to secession. For which I replied that the allowing to secede depends on how far the Majorities and minorities Cooperate. Our people fought for secession because they were excluded in all matters. I also asked him to let me know whether there are any other way to look after our affairs sans the centre’s intrusion, the CM said.
