TPPs decide to engage in their struggle to get released and to boycott special Court

We have been compelled to engage in our struggle again, in a context where no concrete action had been taken to release us on a humanitarian basis and pushed into an unfortunate situation of boycotting the special court constituted by the government for inquiring our cases. We inform with much pain of heart.

The TPPs had said as above in a press release issued through their relatives.

They have further said that at a context where the Good Governance Government had completed one year in office, and no concrete action being taken, All TPPs  in 14 prisons got together and undertook a fast unto death in the months of October and November last year.

Understanding the sentimental nature of our struggle, several public organizations held country wide protests and especially, the North and East went into full hartals. Several Ministers and the leader of the opposition gave several promises and made us to give up our fast. But the bitter truth was that no solution was found for our problem. Attending the Special Court is like jumping into the fire from the frying pan, they have said.
