The TPPs suspend with condition their fasting on request from University Students
The TPPs detained at Anuradhapuram Prison and on a fast un to death, suspended yesterday their fast on the request of the University students who undertook a March for Release of TPPs from University of Jaffna to right up to the Gates of the Anuradhapuram Prison and by the President of the National movement for release of TPPs, Rev.Fr. Sakthivel.
They agreed to suspend their fasting until 17th on which day the President is expected to make an important announcement according to the TNA.
Father Sakthivel served soft drinks to the fasting TPPs and concluded their fasting.
Meanwhile a group of drunken Sinhala youth who came in two cars and tried to provoke the Jaffna University students resting in front of the Prison gates, saying that ‘only Tigers are in the prison and no TPPs ‘ while number of jail guards and Police personnel were looking on.
