Un-employed Graduates prevent CM from taking part in the PC sitting

As the un-employed graduates and Health Volunteers who were blocking the entrances to the PC Secretariat, The CM and several other members were prevented from entering the PC Premises and participate in the sitting that was in progress in the PC Secretariat and he had gone away without participating in the PC’s 82nd sitting. Hence the sitting proceeded without the CM participating in it.

When the CM came in the morning, he talked to the graduates and they submitted several demands. Main demand was that the Development officers to be recruited without competitive examination. The CM promised to talk to the Chief Secretary and arrange that matter.

However the Health volunteers at the gate refused to allow the CM to go in until an answer is given to their problem. Some graduates also joined them and began shouting when the CM returned without participating in the sitting. Later a group of PC Ministers met the graduates and assured that a recommendation will be made to the Provincial Public service Commission regarding the demand on recruiting Development Officers. Thereafter Health Volunteer were also assured that a fair solution will be obtained for their grievances and there after both the graduates and the Health volunteers concluded their protest at the PC.

However, the CM said later that although I explained to them all powers to grant their requests lies with the Centre and that we are trying to recruit the Graduates to 1,500 vacancies, they were not ready to open the gates.  My Security police personnel wanted to break open the lock and to call in Police to remove the obstructers, but I forbid them and got out of the place respecting their 2 months old persistent struggle and their truthful problem.
