Wigneswaran appeals the traders to support Hartal tomorrow
The former CM and the Secretary general of Thamizh Makkal Koottanii has appealed the traders to shut trading establishments and shops tomorrow 25th February in support of the demonstrations in Kilinichchi.
Almost all of you in various parts of the North and East during our Eluga Thamil demonstrations came forward to shut your trading establishments to show your support for our cause. We do recognise how much such closing up of your establishments bring you economic loss and business debility. But the present time is extremely important for our Tamil Cause. We need to show our concerted political unity to our Central Government as well as to the International Community at this time when the World Body is to discuss the fate of the Resolution passed in 2015 to be executed within two years and thereafter granted further time of two years in 2017 until March this year. Any further extension will only help our People’s travails to be put into hibernation. In the light of open antipathy shown by certain political forces in Sri Lanka and the continued lethargy shown by the Government in executing the terms of the Resolution we feel this is an opportune moment to tell the World how strongly we feel at this moment towards their apathy by showing our united feelings of concern and apprehension at the tardiness of the Government.
Dear Traders and Mercantile Employers and Employees!
May I kindly call upon all of you to shut your trading establishments and shops tomorrow 25th February, 2019 when we are joining in a demonstration at Kilinochchie and show your solidarity to our common concern? I thank you for your support. He said in a press release.
