Wigneswaran declares in Nallur that he will form a new party  “Thamizh Makkal Kootanii – TMK” and struggle further

Chief Minister C.V. Wigneswaran has made an important announcement that he had commenced activities to form a party by the name “ Tamil People’s Alliances with the conjunction of Tamil People’s Council.

Announcing this while speaking in a meeting held at Nallur, under aegis of the Tamil People’s Council, he further said, said  the new party will undertake its voyage rallying all who will respect Human rights and work with honesty and dedication rally under one one umbrella to win the political, social and economical liberation of the Tamil people to achieve excellence , upholding the Tamil Nationalist  principles.

“I feel that, launching a political party and bringing together all those who are committed to the Nationalistic Doctrines, to pursue Institutionalised action is an Option that is good and necessary. Several Tamil intellectuals and Tamil National activists residing locally and abroad, have convinced me that this is a need of the hour and my duty and have pledged their support in this regard. Above all, all the Tamil People I have met in the past had been making this request to me. My political voyage will continue as you all have wished. I have decided live with my people who had placed faith on me and to serve them till I breathe my last.

As I was the the NP CM, in accordance with the limitations placed on me, my actions were restricted to the Northern Province. I could not help the people of the Eastern Province. I am aware of the sacrifices and the important role played by them in the  struggle for our rights. I am also aware of the undescribable tribulations they are undergoing even today. I am convinced that I shall join the Social Leaders, Activists and the Public in working through the new party”, emphasized Wigneswaran, in his speech.

He presented in his speech some project proposals for the pursuance of the voyage for the political, Social, Economical and cultural emancipation  of the Tamil People. These projects should be subjected to further research and debates and strategies should be devised, Wigneswaran said.

1). I invite all to shed all the bitter incidents, preconceived angers, malices enmity of the past, to join their hands, in my political voyage to find a Federal Solution,  in the merged North and East, in accordance with Tamil Nationalistic Doctrines, on the basis of a shared sovereignty. The people here and abroad shall be embraced to undertake our actions.

2). Endeavouring to achieve a solution, by participating in negotiations with any government that is prepared consider with concern and open heart a solution based on a Federal System in the merged North and East.

3). In order to recommence the stalled negotiations with the Government, pressurising activities shall be undertaken locally and through International Community.

4) Labouring in all possible ways for the creation of stable peace,without adopting short cuts for  the solution for ethnic problem and making the truth known to the Sinhala brethren through War Crimes investigation and thereby eliminate mutual mistrust and fears. For this purpose we had work very closely with the Sinhala intellectuals, Human rights activists, social and Religious leaders  and media.

5) The single party interests should be excluded through institutionalised actions, and pursue projects should be undertaken with strategical Planning.

6) Institutionalised Activities should be which will carry forward the Politics and the Development equally and parallelly.

7) An appropriate mechanism should be put in place to provide the people affected by War with prosperous life by creating self dependent economical activities with the assistance of the  Non-govermental Orgnizations and foreign Governments International Community and the Tamil Diaspora.

8) Action should be taken to find solution to the problems of Political Prisoners,  People made to disappear, and the release of Lands of people, with the help of International Community and  United Nations and by the continuous discussions with the Government.

9). The Resolution adopted by the Norther Provincial Council  that what happened in the final war is a genocide, should be made acceptable internationally by strengthening it with further research and collecting data.

10) Developing a close relationship with the Tamil people living all over the world, and creating a politically and economically strong Support Force.

I take this opportunity to request not only the Tamil Diaspora but also, especially the Plantation Tamil people, crores of our umbilical chord relatives in Tamil Naadu and the Tamil people who are  living in countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, Mauritius and South Africa should provide political, social and cultural cooperation and support for our  just and self protecting struggle to ensure the existence of our race.
