Wigneswaran has the necessary qualities to lead the Tamil people, says Sornarajah, Law Professor, Singapore
The addresses delivered by Justice C.V.Wigneswaran show that he has the necessary qualities to lead the Tamil people, the Law Professor of University of Singapore, Muthukumarasamy Sornarajah said.
A collection of speeches made by the NPC, CM, Justice C.V.Wigneswaran , “Neethiyarasar Pesukirar” ( Justice speaking) was released yesterday at Weerasingam Hall, Jaffna.
The Singapore Professor participated as the Chief Guest and said as above delivering his Chief Guest’s address.
Elaborating further he said that the Sinhala Chauvinism will lose its strength soon. It is important that the Tamil factions should sustain their unity and fight against the Sinhala invasion.
Jaffna is a soil of many invasions. The first invasion occurred in 15th Century. Sapumal Kumaraya, sent by Parakramabhahu destroyed it completely. He killed many Tamils. He destroyed the Nallur Temple fully. But after Parakramabahu, Sinhalam lost its strength. Then came the foreigners. British adopting a “divide and rule” policy left us perpetual slaves. Their constitution was not in favour of us and easily implemented by the Sinhala Leaders. No privileges were granted to us in it.
What is happening now is a different kind of Invasion. We have been defeated. The Sinhala invasion is being carried out in several ways.
Our lands have been disseised. Several have been made to disappear. Genocide was staged in Mulliwaikkal. These atrocities are being continuously committed against us. There is a strong reason behind us surpassing all invasions. We had good leaders at those times. If we want to surpass invasions we need good Leaders. The speeches delivered by Justice Wigneswaran amply demonstrate his expertise in International Law and that he has all the qualities to lead Tamil people.
Our only hope is the International Laws. They have the ability to be a rampart to us.
A good leader should be able to lead the youth, have good knowledge in Law. Our leaders should have good attachment to Tamil. It is clear that the justice has a nature including all these.
We could understand that days of declination of Sinhala Chauvinism are drawing close by looking at the current politics of the Sinhalese.
Inner conflict is excessive among Sinhalese. Confrontations will result between two factions among Sinhalese. Corruption is excessive among the Sinhalese. They will be weakened because of that. But we cannot wait for them to weaken. We should fight for our Rights. Fighting instinct is inherent in Wigneswaran.
We should constitute our economy by ourselves. Regain our Educational progress. We should be united. We should preserve it, sustain it. Then only we will be able to fight against the neo-invasions. The justice is currently a person who could alleviate our tribulations, he said.
